Hello to all from Ayr Pagans. This month sees the celebration of Imbolc, a time, when we feel the first stirrings of the Spring. The Goddess in her Maiden aspect, begins to bestow upon the Earth her blossoming gifts. The first bulbs are pushing through the earth, the nights grow shorter, days longer, awaiting the Sun and the warmth. A time to start feeling better about ourselves and starting to realise that the darkness no longer casts its cold and lonley shadow. Also a time to look further to the summer when all the fabulose Pagan events begin in earnest!! (a personal favourite time of mine:D)

Ayr Pagans will continue to hold monthly meets (details on the right), with the aim to providing a meeting place for genuine good and kind people. We aim to have a combination of talks, workshops and ritual celebrations, in line with the wheel of the year.

Hope you can come along if interested!!

In the cold barren midst of winter, the Goddess rests and sleeps to await the first stirrings of Spring.

Ayr Pagans celebrated this special time, having a Yule meal to celebrate our friendships. It was a cosy and relaxing night. Thanks to all who came.

Ayr Pagans also celebrated Yule with a moot ritual (kindly written by one of our members), honouring this dark time. A great afternoon had by all, many thanks to those who came and a huge thanks to one of our members who hosted the event. They made us all very welcome indeed!!!!! Thankyou to those who came. Here’s to more of the same in the coming year!!!!

Have a very happy Yule and Blessed Be to all Jo xxxxx

As Pagans, we can see the wheel is turning towards long nights and short days. This is a time for those of us on the path of the old, to embrace, take stock and plan for the comming light.

The next Sabbat, is regarded by many as a very important and potent celebration………Samhain.
This festival is one of the cross quarter days of the Pagan Calender and is also an extremely reflective time.

Samhain, otherwise known in popular culture as “Halloween”, is one of a few times society try to understand its roots. However, for Pagans, it is a very spiritual time, when we invite in to our lives, those that have passed before us. It is a time to say thankyou to our loved ones who have passed recently and to honour our distant ancestors who gave their lives, in the hope that we can practice our religion in peace.

Whatever, we decide to do on this blessed night. Blessings be to all of you Jo x

During the Summer Months, members of Ayr Pagans participated in some blessings outdoors, which was a great sucess!! Also, we had a day trip to the Isle of Arran and in particular Machrie Moor (with its standing stones). The weather was beautiful, the standing stones themselves were fantastic and had a feel of strong energy about them.

One of the highlights was the completion of Dunure Labyrinth. Andy Gurthrie was the main organiser in this project. The Labyrinth is there to enable a peaceful pathworking for those who require and families with children would love it!! The labyrinth was constructed from all natural materials and alot of pure effort on Andy’s part was required!! The finished product is beautiful!! Well done to all that played a major part!!! Ayr badly needed this type of monument!!

This Summer, was the first that Ayr Pagans set out to do more in the way of practical pagan work. As a group we are very friendly all take part in planning out blessings etc.. Long may it continue!! BB Jo x

Summer solstice, is a time for the celebration of light, the longest day of our Sun God. In a world, where people become disillusioned, it is a good time to reflect on the meaning of our lives. At this time of year, the Sun will be at his height, providing a feeling of joy, peace and positive outlook. As Pagans, we can see and feel potently, the turning of the Wheel, so we are the lucky ones!! Summer solstice is normally celebrated on June the 21st, the height of the Summer months. It is a time for relishing the warmth, the blue of the sky and the uplifted feeling that most people get! To prepare for Solstice, (in 6 weeks time), celebrate and think why the Sun makes us feel better. Give thanks to our Great Mother and her consort for our lives and the light of the sun. Blessing to you all Jo BB
